Happy Friday!

Where has this week gone? It has just flown by for us for some reason. The weekend is here so I can't complain. I have to share my newest creation. I've been itching to try this technique since last year and finally dove in. Let me know what you think of my first mixed media collage painting. I have to thank Deborah Strickland for inspiration. I love her collage art and just won a painting of hers on ebay. She is quite a talented lady. You can see her blog here: http://twentyfourcarrotsart.blogspot.com/ She is also a fellow Tennessee artist!!

This is my first attempt.....please be kind :-)

I used a variety of mediums including acrylics, paper, markers and oil pastels on an 11x14 gallery wrapped canvas. I also antique washed the painting for a more primitive look. I had a blast creating this design! I will be listing this on ebay and will post the link asap.

Thanks for taking the time to visit and until next time....have a blessed Friday!

Wacky Wednesday

Organization is such a beautiful thing! I never dreamed I would say that...ha. I'm no expert by any means. I'm just so doggone proud of myself for even making an attempt at it. My studio normally looks like a paint factory blew up in it. I have such high hopes of keeping it clean. I'll let you know how it goes.
I had to share a photo of this hand painted shabby vintage canister set I found at the thrift store. I love the colors. They don't match my kitchen but they are perfect for my studio. Those of you who know me well know my addiction to thrifting. Ya gotta love a great bargain!
Last but not least, I did spend some time on a couple of new paintings. Vintage chandeliers have made quite a comeback. To celebrate, I created this fabulous pink chandelier painting. This is an 11x14 on gallery wrapped canvas and painted on all sides and ready for hanging right from the box.

I love this phrase! This design has been a big hit for my tile talk line so I thought I'd try one on canvas. This is a 10x10 gallery wrapped canvas and is ready to hang with no framing needed. Glitter accents can be added upon request.

My work can be purchased directly through me by emailing inspirationsboutique@hotmail.com. Custom designs are also accepted on a limited basis. Ok, enough about that. Have a happy day!!!

Organization Monday!

I spent some much needed time organizing and cleaning the studio today. It's amazing how much disarray comes in a whirlwind Christmas season with deadlines and last minute orders. My goal for this year is to be more organized and stay that way. I would love to have a professional organizer come in and do their thing in the studio and at my house.

I picked up the sweetest hand painted canisters this morning at the thrift store. I'm using them for supply storage in the studio. Big Bad Bertha's(my Canon Rebel) batteries ran down so no pics until tomorrow. I also found a really cool mirror for 2 bucks that I hope to paint and shabby up a bit. Until next time.....be blessed!

On the Mend...

I had really hoped to get this blog off to a better start but I'm on the mend from a fun-filled weekend. A weekend of suffering from a stomach virus.......YUCK! It's not the weekend I'd hoped for and my husband agreed and told me as much. My son on the other hand got lost in his world of Mario, Sponge Bob and Captain Underpants.

On the bright side, my dear husband purchased for me the newest edition of Somerset Life and suprised me with it. I've flipped through the inspiration filled pages between episodes of fever and a few other symptoms I don't care to mention. This publication is a creative treasure box that I will add to my permanent collection.
After lying around all weekend, I'm ready to get back in the studio. I'm feeling the need to paint and create something new and exciting. Stay tuned! Have a blessed rest of the weekend.
